Minister Salako Warns Against Protests, Promises Recovery from Tinubu’s Reforms

The Minister of State for Environment, Ishaq Salako, on Saturday assured Nigerians that the economy is on its way to full recovery following the radical economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the past year.

 

Salako expressed this conviction at the inauguration of newly elected national working committee members of the Youth League of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

 

The minister’s reassurance came in response to calls for all APC youths to boycott the August 1 nationwide protests.

 

In his address, the newly sworn-in president of the APC Youths, Olamide Lawal, urged party members at all levels to ignore the proposed demonstration. He also highlighted the positive changes he plans to bring as the new president of the APC Youths League.

 

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Shippers’ Counqcil, Pius Uyekima Akutah, advised the newly inaugurated committee to embrace youthfulness for the country’s progress. He encouraged them to focus on technology and innovation to participate in building the nation’s economy.

 

Among the dignitaries who attended the event were representatives of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of State for Youth Development, and the APC National Chairman.
