Tiwa explained that Olamide, the YBNL record label owner, turned down the payment after his management quoted the fee.She mentioned that Olamide didn’t charge her because he understands the challenges female artists face in the music industry.
Reflecting on their close bond, Tiwa thanked the rapper for his supportive and caring nature.”I was discussing with his management, not wanting to approach him directly as he would likely offer to do it for free.
I agreed to the fee his team quoted—N100m. But when Olamide learned who the artist was, he refused.
He said I’m like a sister to him and knows the struggles women face in this industry. And guess what?
He gave the verse for free. There are good people, and Baddo is one of them,” she said.
