The House Committee on Tertiary Education Funding (TETFUND), chaired by Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha, visited Ogun State for an in-depth interactive session.
The committee engaged with the Ogun State Government and leaders of the state-owned tertiary institutions to discuss and review the impact and utilization of TETFUND’s initiatives.
Deputy Governor Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele FNSC, representing His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, extended a warm welcome to the committee on behalf of the state. In her address, she highlighted the significant contributions TETFUND has made to the development of the state’s universities.
She expressed gratitude to Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha and her committee for their proactive approach in ensuring that Ogun State’s higher education institutions fully benefit from TETFUND’s resources.
Engr Salako-Oyedele emphasized the importance of such interactive sessions, stating that they provide a crucial platform for addressing challenges, sharing insights, and strategizing on ways to enhance the educational infrastructure and academic standards in the state.
She also acknowledged the committee’s efforts in streamlining the funding process and ensuring transparency and accountability in the distribution of TETFUND resources.
The interactive session included detailed discussions on the allocation and utilization of TETFUND funds, the progress of ongoing projects, and future plans for the enhancement of tertiary education in Ogun State.
Heads of various institutions shared their experiences and provided feedback on the impact of TETFUND projects, highlighting successes and areas needing further attention.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both TETFUND and the Ogun State Government to work collaboratively towards the betterment of higher education in the state, ensuring that all eligible institutions maximize the benefits provided by TETFUND.
