Chief Tagwai Sambo, the leader of Moroa in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has passed away. The Palace Secretary, Mr. Iliya Avong, announced Sambo’s death on Saturday in Manchok.
The esteemed traditional ruler was 88 years old and had reigned for 58 years.
“Baba died peacefully in his sleep,” Avong informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Avong also mentioned that the chief had been facing health issues since 2020.
NAN reports that Sambo, born on Dec. 24, 1936, became chief at 30 in 1966. Before his ascension, he served as the Commissioner for Works and Housing in the Northern Regional Government.
