In a riveting conclusion to the highly anticipated Ileya Unity Football Competition, Hon. Omotola FC clinched victory over Oke Ogbun United FC with a decisive 3-1 win.
The final match, held this evening at the Ila Orangun City Stadium, drew a significant crowd, eager to witness the culmination of the event organized by Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin.
In his opening address, Hon. Adeniyi underscored his fervent commitment to fostering unity and development within the Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro federal constituency.
He highlighted the integral role of unity as a cornerstone for progress, urging both participants and spectators to uphold sportsmanship. “We must first see ourselves as human beings and as Ila Orangun indigenes before any other considerations,” Hon. Adeniyi emphasized, setting the tone for an event marked by camaraderie and spirited competition.
The victorious Hon. Omotola FC was awarded a cash prize of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira. Oke Ogbun United FC, as runners-up, received One Hundred Thousand Naira, while Mercy FC, securing third place, were granted Fifty Thousand Naira. All participating teams were recognized with certificates of participation and various category prizes, celebrating their dedication and skill throughout the competition.
The grand finale was graced by numerous dignitaries, including HRM. Oba Bisiriyu Adekunle Adeniji, the Owaloja of Kajola Ajaba, accompanied by his Oloris. Prominent APC party stalwarts from Ila Local Government and other distinguished guests also attended, underscoring the event’s significance within the community.
