The Lagos State Police Command has clarified that it apprehended DJ Commissioner Wysei and not DJ Switch as reported in some media outlets.
Reports had surfaced on Thursday that DJ Switch was detained and taken to the magistrate court in Eti Osa over alleged complaints of fraud and assault.
However, police now state it was a mixup.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer, who issued the clarification on Thursday, acknowledged responsibility for the mixup leading to misleading reports.
Hundeyin apologized for any inconvenience caused to the outlets, including Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC, which he had previously confirmed.
The command also extended apologies to DJ Switch.
“There was a mixup from our end. The apprehended individual is DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch.
“Apologies for any inconvenience to some media outlets like Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC to whom I provided confirmation this morning.
Apologies to DJ Switch as well.”
TIMELESS UPDATE reported that Obianuju Catherine Udeh, aka DJ Switch, had refuted reports of her arrest in Lagos.
Writing on X, DJ Switch stated the report was false and the perpetrators aimed to tarnish her reputation.
She also warned of legal action against the creators of the false information.
”I was awakened by a barrage of calls and texts this morning. I wondered why because I know today is not my birthday. Only to discover that I have been detained,” she wrote.
