The Federal Government has unveiled speed limit cameras on the Third Mainland Bridge to promote responsible driving, ensure the bridge’s preservation, and enhance safety.
Mrs. Olukorede Keisha, the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, announced the unofficial reopening of the bridge on Thursday in Lagos, stating that the speed limit initiative was in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The installation of speed cameras comes after the commencement of comprehensive rehabilitation work on the bridge on Jan. 9, addressing various failed sections.
Keisha emphasized that the speed cameras, prominently displayed on the median, would capture motorists exceeding the speed limit, with penalties not immediately imposed on the spot.
