Nigerian Army Intercepts Large Quantity Of Drugs In Ogun, Hands Over Exhibits To NDLEA

Troops from the 35 Artillery Brigade intercepted a Mazda vehicle with Registration Number NRK 622 SB. It was carrying a significant amount of substance suspected to be Cannabis Sativa at Mologbede village in Odeda LGA of Ogun State on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, the Commander of 35 Artillery Brigade, commended the troops for their effort and urged them to remain vigilant. The handing over of 441 wrapped pieces of Pawpaw-sized Cannabis Sativa, weighing 223kg, and the Mazda vehicle took place on April 3, 2024, at the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ogun State Command.

Major Gadzama Abdullahi, representing the Commander, reiterated that the Brigade would continue collaborating with other security agencies to combat crimes in the State.

Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, Commandant of NDLEA Ogun State Command, expressed excitement over the synergy between the Military and other security agencies. She credited General Aminu for his support, which has led to significant successes. This interception is one of many instances where the military has assisted NDLEA in breaking drug syndicates and achieving positive outcomes in their drug-fighting efforts.
