Breaking: President Bola Tinubu Orders Nigerian Customs to Return Seized Food Items to Owners

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Customs Service to return all seized grains to their owners for sale in Nigerian markets.

The announcement came from the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, during a stakeholder meeting in Kwangwalam, Katsina State.

President Tinubu’s directive aims to ensure affordable food prices for Nigerians amidst market pressures caused by the seizure of over 120 trucks of food items earmarked for export.

The decision underscores Tinubu’s commitment to addressing food security challenges and easing the burden on citizens.

During his visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura and a meeting with the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Farouq Umar, the CGC was honored with the traditional title of Mabudin Hausa, highlighting the significance of his efforts in promoting food security in the nation.
