The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu for his recent comments, urging him to prioritize addressing the widespread hardships facing Nigerians instead of engaging in political rhetoric.

Tinubu’s remarks, delivered during the commissioning of the Railway Red line, lambasted the NLC’s planned nationwide protest over unmet agreements from October. He asserted that the organized labor lacked moral authority to challenge his administration’s policies, given its relatively short time in office.

Reacting swiftly, NLC President Joe Ajaero condemned Tinubu’s stance, emphasizing the urgent need for tangible action to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. Ajaero highlighted the pressing issues of hunger, unemployment, housing insecurity, and rising costs of essentials, urging Tinubu to refocus on governance responsibilities rather than political maneuvering.
