Presidency’s SSA on Citizenship and Leadership Engages NBA Young Lawyers’ Forum, Calls for Justice System Improvements

Rinsola Abiola, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, engaged with the Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Forum (NBA-YLF) on January 30, 2025, to explore collaborative efforts in advancing the Access to Justice Project. The initiative seeks to enhance legal representation, particularly for vulnerable groups.

The NBA-YLF delegation, led by its President, Mr. Timothy Clement (Esq.), was joined by representatives from key partner organizations, including the Nigerian Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), LEAP Africa, and the Public and Private Development Center (PPDC).

The meeting, held at the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) boardroom, focused on identifying strategic areas for partnership in implementing recommendations from the Access to Justice roundtable held last year.

“I took the NBA-YLF delegation through the report from the roundtable and highlighted the next steps identified by the Office, with a view to identifying areas of mutual interest and thus, potential avenues for collaboration,” Abiola stated.

She emphasized that the discussions were interactive, with participants sharing insights on progress made so far and offering constructive suggestions for further action.

The engagement marks a significant step in strengthening legal support frameworks, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving access to justice for all.
