President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his commitment to fostering unity and peace in Nigeria’s South-East region.
During an interactive session with South-East leaders in Enugu on Saturday, Tinubu highlighted the importance of national cohesion, describing all Nigerians as “one big family.” He pledged to promote development that addresses both present and future needs.
“I don’t care which party you belong to; you are my friend. Alex Otti of Abia State is doing excellently. It’s not about differences in language or place of origin. We are all part of one big family called Nigeria, living in different rooms of the same house,” Tinubu remarked.
The President also unveiled critical development plans for the region, including:
Completion of the Eastern Rail Line linking Port Harcourt and Maiduguri.
Progress in developing the Anambra Basin, which holds about 1 billion barrels of oil and 30 billion cubic feet of gas.
Increased investment in gas infrastructure as a sustainable energy solution.
Tinubu expressed confidence in collaborating with South-East governors to realize these initiatives.
