Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has restated his administration’s dedication to addressing infrastructure challenges in Ogun West Senatorial District, particularly the deplorable state of roads in the area.
Speaking at the Odun Omo Iganmode Festival held at the Otta Mini Stadium, AUD School, Otta, on Saturday, Abiodun, represented by his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, decried the neglect of critical infrastructure in Ado-Odo/Ota, a vital economic hub hosting numerous industries.
Despite these setbacks, the governor reassured residents of ongoing efforts to resolve these issues and improve their quality of life.
Abiodun emphasized key infrastructure projects his administration has embarked on to improve road networks in the region, including the reconstruction of the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road and awarding a contract for the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Expressway.
“Let me assure you that reconstructing critical roads in Ado-Odo/Ota and its environs remains a top priority for our administration.
“The Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta road, a vital corridor for trade, commerce, and daily life, has endured years of neglect. We have awarded a contract for the road and are actively engaging with the Federal Government and stakeholders to ensure its full rehabilitation.
“Similarly, substantial progress has been made on the ongoing construction of the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road, another key project that supports both residents and industries in the area.
“We are committed to delivering these projects to enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activities, and improve the living standards of our people,” Abiodun stated.
The governor also underscored the importance of Otta’s prosperity to the overall development of Ogun State, pledging continued support to create an environment conducive to business growth and community well-being.
Congratulating Ogun West residents on this year’s festival, Abiodun highlighted the role of cultural celebrations in promoting unity and driving societal advancement.
To further support the event, the governor announced a donation of N20 million to aid the festival’s organization and encourage the preservation of the state’s cultural heritage.
