Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated the Lagos Medipark, a groundbreaking healthcare project designed to transform medical services in Africa.
The initiative, a partnership between the Lagos State Government and IASO Medipark Ltd, was unveiled during a ceremony earlier today.
The Medipark will feature a state-of-the-art 140-bed multi-specialist hospital, advanced diagnostic facilities, and on-site living quarters for healthcare professionals. In addition, training spaces will be provided to develop a skilled medical workforce, aligning with the government’s goal of reducing Nigerians’ reliance on medical tourism.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the project’s economic and health benefits, highlighting its potential to enhance the state’s healthcare system and retain medical expertise within Nigeria.
The first phase of the Lagos Medipark is slated for completion by 2026.
