AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo Assumes Office as 53rd AIG of FCID Annex Lagos

AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo, PSC, has officially taken over as the 53rd Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos. She succeeds AIG Ogundele J. Ayodeji, who is credited with significant advancements during his tenure.

 

A trailblazer, AIG Ogbodo is the first female officer to lead the FCID Annex Lagos. A native of Enugu South Local Government Area in Enugu State, her career reflects a history of exemplary service and dedication to ethical policing. Before her promotion to AIG, she served as the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, earning recognition for her outstanding leadership. Most recently, she headed the Maritime Police Command at the Force Headquarters Annex in Obalende, where she implemented stringent measures to combat corruption, harassment, and misconduct within the maritime sector.

 

AIG Ogbodo’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Diploma in Police Science from the Staff College, Jos. Her professional journey has seen her excel in various police commands and formations across the country, supported by extensive training and development.

 

As she assumes her new role, AIG Ogbodo has reiterated her commitment to enhancing the operational effectiveness of the FCID Annex Lagos. She has called on citizens to partner with the Police in combating crime and promoting justice. Her vision prioritizes public safety, integrity, and professionalism, with a strong emphasis on fostering transparency and collaboration among law enforcement agencies.

 

Adopting an open-door policy, AIG Ogbodo aims to strengthen relationships with sister agencies while ensuring the well-being and security of all Nigerians. With her vast experience and unwavering dedication, she is poised to advance the objectives of the Inspector General of Police and enhance the operational capacity of the FCID Annex Lagos.
