Abiodun Partners with AfDB and Moroccan Hydrocarbons Office to Boost Ogun Economic Development

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, CON, held high-level meetings in Morocco to advance critical projects aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth and development in the state. The engagements focused on forging strategic partnerships in various sectors, including renewable energy, mining, transportation, and manufacturing.

During a meeting with Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Governor Abiodun expressed appreciation for AfDB’s pivotal role in connecting sub-national governments with investors and providing financial backing for transformative projects.

Key areas of discussion included livestock value addition, timber processing, and renewable energy investments. Plans to establish an automotive assembly plant and extend Lagos’ red and blue rail lines into Ogun State were also highlighted.

In a separate engagement, the governor met with the CEO of the Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines of Morocco to explore collaborations in mining and hydrocarbons. This initiative aligns with Ogun State’s recent designation as a frontier state by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The discussions focused on harnessing the state’s abundant mineral and hydrocarbon resources to drive sustainable economic development.

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging innovative financing solutions and strategic partnerships to unlock Ogun State’s economic potential and improve the quality of life for its residents.
