The Bureau of Service Matters, under the Office of the Head of Service, has announced that the Ogun State Government has approved a work-free day on Friday, November 15, 2024, for both civil and public servants.
This decision, sanctioned by Governor Dapo Abiodun, aims to allow workers ample time to travel to their respective local government areas to vote in the upcoming local government elections set for Saturday, November 16, 2024.
The polls, organized by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), will elect chairpersons for the state’s twenty local government areas and councillors for 236 wards.
This move highlights the administration’s commitment to promoting inclusiveness and encouraging participatory democracy. Permanent Secretaries and heads of government agencies have been instructed to ensure adherence to this directive.
