The Senate has confirmed seven nominees recently selected by President Bola Tinubu for ministerial roles.
The confirmation followed a hearing on the Senate floor held on Wednesday.
The confirmed ministers and their respective assignments are Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Dingyadi (Labour and Employment), Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (Minister of State, Foreign Affairs), and Dr. Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade, and Investment).
Additional appointees include Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Ata (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad (Minister of State, Education).
Senate President Goodwill Akpabio congratulated the appointees and encouraged them to commence work swiftly.
The confirmation follows Tinubu’s dismissal of five ministers last week, with instructions for the Senate to approve replacements and new cabinet roles.
