Cultist Arrested in Ogun as Son Unwittingly Takes Loaded Gun to Scrap Dealer

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested an alleged member of the Eiye cult, Oliver Sunday, following a surprising incident involving his 12-year-old son.

The child, while sweeping his home, found a cut-to-size gun and mistook it for scrap metal, subsequently taking it to a local scrap dealer with the intention of earning some money.

The scrap dealer, however, became suspicious upon seeing the weapon and, fearing a potential setup, promptly reported the situation to the police. Both the father and son were arrested and have since been transferred to the Anti-Cultism Squad for further investigation.

Oliver Sunday, originally from Edo State, confessed to the police that he had joined the Eiye cult to participate in land grabbing activities as a source of income.

Sunday also confirmed that the gun found by his son had been provided by associates involved in the cult, highlighting the ties between organized crime and cultist activities in Ogun State.

The Ogun State Police continue to crack down on cult-related activities across the state, with the case serving as a reminder of the hidden dangers present in such criminal networks.
