Breaking: EFCC Nabs Suspected Vote-Buyers in Edo Governorship Election

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested individuals in connection with suspected vote-buying during the ongoing Edo State governorship election.

The arrests were made around 10:00 am in the Egor Local Government Area.

EFCC operatives apprehended three suspects—two men and one woman—believed to be involved in vote-buying activities. However, some local residents have raised concerns, claiming the suspects are being wrongfully accused.

Today’s Edo governorship election sees three major candidates in the lead. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is represented by Asue Ighodalo, while Senator Monday Okpebholo is running for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Labour Party (LP) has fielded Olumide Akpata as their candidate.

Though 17 candidates are vying for the governorship seat, the primary contest is expected to be between the PDP, APC, and Labour Party
