Nigerian Air Force Transports INEC Election Materials Ahead of Edo Polls

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has begun airlifting sensitive election materials for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Benin, Edo State, in preparation for the governorship election slated for 21 September 2024.

This move is aimed at ensuring the secure and timely delivery of electoral materials.

NAF and INEC have partnered to address the logistical needs essential for the upcoming election.

The collaboration between the two organizations is focused on enhancing election credibility through the safe and efficient transportation of materials.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, recently affirmed NAF’s commitment to support INEC during a meeting with INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

The CAS reiterated that NAF will provide Military Aid to Civil Authority by transporting crucial election materials.

Observers suggest the timely transport of the materials shows INEC’s preparedness for the Edo State governorship election, one of the year’s most anticipated political events.
