Hon. Olamide Lawal, Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun on Youth Development and National President of the All Progressives Congress Youth League, had the honour of leading the Belgian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Pieter Leenknegt, on a courtesy visit to the palace of Oba Saka Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom.
The ambassador was in Abeokuta to attend the 2024 edition of AFRIMUN, a United Nations model event for young people.
The ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Andy Lienafa of Transfood Africa Ltd., Greco Sanli, the Financial Advisor to the Ambassador, Mr. Oscar Gilliot, and the Bobasanya of Ososa Kingdom, Ijebuland.
The delegation was warmly received at the palace, with discussions focusing on potential collaborations with the Owu Kingdom in areas such as youth empowerment, agricultural development, partnerships with tertiary education institutions, community development, and cultural exchange programs.
Speaking to our correspondents, Hon. Lawal expressed his excitement about the delegation’s interest in collaborating with the Owu Kingdom, highlighting that such partnerships could bring economic growth, stability, and progress to both the Owu Kingdom and Ogun State.
“Igbega Ipinle Ogun, ajose gbogbo wa ni ooooo,” Hon. Lawal remarked, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in advancing the state.
