Infrastructure, Education, Empowerment: Hon. Isiaka’s Two-Year Legislative Impact Unveiled

The Deputy Chief Whip of the 10th National Assembly and Member representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, has marked his second year in office with a record of impactful national service and far-reaching grassroots development initiatives.

 

In a report released by his Special Assistant on Special Duties and Youth Development, Rt. Hon. Isiaka’s midterm achievements span across critical sectors including infrastructure, electrification, healthcare, education, empowerment, and legislative contributions.

 

 

1. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

 

Rt. Hon. Isiaka has prioritized physical infrastructure, with key projects including the construction of:

 

Odo-Awela and Alapako Bridges,

 

Concrete embankments at Wagunu River, Itori,

 

Road construction in Wasimi and grading across 21 wards.

Also delivered are boreholes in Agbado, Akinhan, Ijoko Market, Papalanto, and Asa Obintin communities, along with a VIP toilet and borehole facility for the New Ancient Ifo City Town Hall.

 

Judicial infrastructure was also boosted with new court buildings in Agbado and Ojodu (80% completed before state adoption).

 

 

2. ELECTRIFICATION

 

To enhance access to electricity, transformers were delivered to Ososun, Wasimi, and Araromi (Papalanto). Additionally, 2,500 units of solar-powered streetlights were installed across 300 communities, significantly improving night-time security and livelihood.

 

 

3. HEALTH INITIATIVES

 

Construction of a world-class Primary Health Centre at Lemode, Oke Aro Ibaragun is ongoing.

 

Over 1,500 residents have benefitted from free medical outreach programs.

 

A hygiene and sensitization campaign reached 1,000 secondary school girls across 9 schools in the constituency.

 

 

4. EDUCATION SECTOR INVESTMENTS

 

Key education milestones include:

 

Science laboratories built at Odewale School (Agbado) and UCHS (Wasimi).

 

Multiple blocks of classrooms constructed in Igbusi (Coker), Gaun-un (Akute), and Owowo.

 

Instructional materials were distributed to 10 secondary schools across the constituency.

 

 

5. EMPOWERMENT, AGRICULTURE & SOCIAL WELFARE

 

A robust empowerment and welfare drive saw:

 

Thousands of farmers empowered with fertilizer, farm tools, and cash in both 2023 and 2024.

 

Flood victims in Ifo and Ewekoro LGAs received building materials and relief items.

 

2500 constituents benefited from empowerment programs at the 2024 Town Hall Meeting, receiving tricycles, motorcycles, korope buses, grinding machines, sewing machines, and cash support.

 

Training and empowerment programs for over 600 women and youth in adire making, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and security services.

 

Continuous seasonal welfare support with food and cash distributions during Easter, Ramadan, Christmas, Ileya, and other festive periods.

 

Direct cash interventions were made to support community projects, traditional institutions, and security stakeholders for peace and development.

 

He also facilitated the sponsorship of Hajj pilgrimages in 2023 and 2024, with youth inclusiveness.

 

 

6. LEGISLATIVE DUTIES

 

As a committed lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Isiaka has sponsored or co-sponsored:

 

25 Bills and

 

65 Motions

reflecting his commitment to national and constituency-based legislative priorities.
