Hon. Ladi Adebutu, a prominent politician and philanthropist, has been conferred with the highly revered chieftaincy title of Lisa Aje of Remoland by the Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, Torungbuwa II. His wife was equally honoured with the title of Yeye Lisa Aje of Remoland.
The ceremony, which held in grand style at the Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu, saw dignitaries, traditional rulers, and residents gather to celebrate the remarkable contributions of Hon. Adebutu and his wife to the Remo Kingdom and beyond.
In a statement following the investiture, Hon. Adebutu expressed deep appreciation for the honour, describing it as a cherished recognition of service and a renewed call to contribute even more to the development of Remoland.
“This honour, bestowed upon us by His Royal Majesty, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, is one I deeply cherish and do not take for granted,” Adebutu said.
He extended heartfelt gratitude to Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Remo Council of Obas, and the people of Remoland, pledging to remain steadfast in his commitment to the unity and prosperity of the land.
“To the good people of Remoland, e seun gan-an. This recognition is a call to greater service,” he added.
The chieftaincy titles of Lisa Aje and Yeye Lisa Aje are among the most respected in the traditional hierarchy of Remoland, often reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to economic development, social welfare, and community leadership.
The event marked a significant moment not only for the Adebutu family but also for the Remo people, who celebrated the occasion as a reflection of their cultural heritage and recognition of outstanding service.
