and
“Reimagining Youth Agency in Advancing Democratic Governance and Sustainable Development”.
Reflecting on her longstanding advocacy, she stated:
“As one who has actively and consistently advocated for enhanced youth (and gender) representation in politics and governance, I look forward to examining the role of young people in safeguarding democracy (especially in light of the recent onslaught against democratic governance), and highlighting the efforts being made to enhance youth leadership and representation in governance in Nigeria.”
Hon. Abiola also expressed enthusiasm about engaging with fellow delegates:
“I also look forward to engaging other delegates and exploring further avenues for attaining greater youth mainstreaming not just in the country that I call home, but across the region as a whole.”
The high-level conference is being organized by the ECOWAS Commission, the West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network (WADEMOS), and GIZ. She concluded by expressing gratitude:
“I am thankful to all the partners for the invitation.”
