The government of Ogun State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has once again demonstrated its commitment to infrastructure development with the successful commissioning of the newly rehabilitated 4.5km Oju-Ore/Ilogbo Road in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
This landmark event, attended by Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele on behalf of the Governor, underscores the administration’s dedication to improving road networks and enhancing the socio-economic landscape of the state.
The rehabilitation of this road was made possible through a strategic Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd and Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd. This collaboration highlights the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in fostering sustainable development. By investing in this critical project, these corporate partners have contributed significantly to the ease of mobility, trade, and overall economic activity in the region.
The impact of this road rehabilitation extends beyond mere transportation; it is a catalyst for growth and improved quality of life for residents and businesses in Ota, Ilogbo, and surrounding communities. The newly upgraded road will facilitate smoother movement of goods and services, reduce travel time, and enhance safety for road users. Additionally, it is expected to attract further investment and development, thereby strengthening the economic potential of the area.
During the commissioning event, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele expressed gratitude to the project’s partners for their unwavering support and investment in the future of Ogun State. Their commitment to the state’s development through CSR initiatives sets a commendable precedent for other corporate entities.
Furthermore, the Deputy Governor congratulated the people of Ota, Ilogbo, and environs on the successful completion of this project. She urged residents to take ownership of the road by ensuring its proper maintenance and responsible usage so that it can serve present and future generations effectively.
The commissioning of the Oju-Ore/Ilogbo Road exemplifies Ogun State’s progress in infrastructural renewal and public-private synergy. As the state continues on its path of growth and development, projects like this reinforce the government’s vision of a modern, well-connected, and economically vibrant state.
