The Ogun State Government, led by First Lady Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, officially flagged off the 2025 World Cancer Day commemoration at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta. The event, themed “United by Unique,” brought together public office holders, including the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye.
The campaign highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in the fight against cancer, stressing the need for continuous public awareness to reduce the disease’s prevalence.
Medical experts at the event delivered insightful discussions on the significance of regular health screenings for both men and women. They underscored the importance of early detection in effective cancer prevention, treatment, and management, while also advising attendees on lifestyle adjustments to reduce cancer risks and enhance overall well-being.
The initiative reaffirms the Ogun State Government’s commitment to improving public health awareness and expanding access to preventive healthcare services for all residents.
