The Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development is set to collaborate with a non-governmental organization (NGO) to enhance child immunization and nutrition services across the state.
Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by Mrs. Temitope Orji, who leads an NGO focused on wellbeing and integrated nutrition services.
During the visit, Mrs. Orji presented a strategic plan to partner with the State Primary Healthcare Board and the Ministry of Health to advocate for the introduction of the Measles and Rubella vaccine. She also proposed a joint initiative with the Women Affairs Ministry to design and implement targeted programs that will improve access to essential healthcare for children.
Speaking on the collaboration, Hon. Adeleye emphasized the importance of such initiatives in improving public health.
“This partnership is a welcome development as it aligns with our commitment to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of children in Ogun State. By working together, we can ensure that critical immunization and nutrition services reach those who need them most,” she stated.
The initiative aims to enhance public health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations, by expanding access to vital healthcare services.
