For instance, in April 2022, the Ogun State Government signed a $400 million Memorandum of Understanding with Arise Integrated Industrial Platform for the development of the Olokola Free Trade Zone and Remo Agro Processing Zone. Similarly, in August 2022, African Industries Group pledged $500 million to establish a steel production facility in the state, while the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) committed another $500 million to upgrade the power infrastructure along the Lagos-Ogun Industrial Corridor.
In October 2024, Inner Galaxy Steel Company Limited, a Chinese firm, announced a $300 million investment to establish a steel plant producing specialized steel products. In the same month, a British company partnered with Ogun State to build a $5 million battery recycling plant, marking a significant milestone in renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
