The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has said that the just concluded maiden edition of the three-day Christmas Fiesta is a proof of retailers’ confidence in the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s led government in Ogun State as it presented the opportunity to drive traffic to their busineses.
Engr. Salako-Oyedele made this known during her tour of various exhibition booths at the Christmas Fiesta organised by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment at the Open Lawn, Opposite House of Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Deputy Governor who was received to the venue by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, and other top management team members of the Ministry, commended the initiative which enabled retailers to display their wares free of charge.
She expressed optimism that people who had patronized the various businesses within the three days of the fiesta would become returned and loyal customers even after the Christmas festivity.
According to her, I know that a relationship would have been built between retailers and customers who have come to buy things since the fiesta kicked-off two days ago.
“I have personally seen some products that excited me. I will always look in the direction of these items in future. I have bought some things which I intend to try to make sure we support our local products, businesses ,retailers and ensure we contribute to the Gross Domestic Product ( GDP) in the state.
While appreciating the organisers, the Deputy Governor assured that the next edition of the fiesta would be bigger and better, just as she used the opportunity to wish everyone in the State a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Mrs. Oluyemisi Somorin-Dawodu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Mining and Solid Minerals, Prof. Kayode Festus Oyedele, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, Director of Commerce, Mr. Deji Sowunmi and other directors in the Ministry were present to welcome the Deputy Governor to the closing day of the Christmas Fiesta.
