The 2024 Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ogun State Chapter, held its End-of-the-Year Get-Together and Award Evening, themed “Leadership, Women, and Rebuilding Nigeria.” The event was a vibrant blend of celebration and intellectual discourse, attracting notable personalities from across the state and beyond.
Among the distinguished attendees were the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, senior government officials, the representative of the National President of NIPR, Mr. Tope Daramola, and public relations practitioners from the private and public sectors. The event underscored the vital role of leadership, with a focus on women’s contributions to creating a stronger and more progressive Nigeria.
Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, the Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, served as the guest speaker. In her address, she shared insightful perspectives on the theme.
“I was privileged to deliver a pep talk on the theme, emphasizing the critical intersection of leadership and gender inclusivity in nation-building,” Hon. Adeleye stated. “I highlighted the untapped potential of women in leadership roles and the need for deliberate policies and strategies to bridge the gender gap.”
She also addressed the importance of effective communication and public relations in fostering national unity, rebuilding public trust, and driving development.
While reflecting on the event’s success, Hon. Adeleye applauded the organizers. “No doubt, the evening was not only a celebration of excellence but also a call to action for professionals and stakeholders to collectively work toward a more inclusive and resilient Nigeria.”
