The Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Dele Alake, today inaugurated the African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML) ultra-modern mineral analysis laboratory, the first of its kind in Nigeria. Speaking at the event, Mr. Alake highlighted the laboratory’s alignment with his 7-point agenda aimed at repositioning the mining sector.

“This internationally certified lab will significantly benefit the sector by handling mineral samples that were previously sent abroad for testing,” the minister stated. He emphasized that this development positions Nigeria as a key player in global mineral analysis, enhancing the nation’s self-reliance and boosting its mining sector.

The ANRML laboratory, which also operates alongside an iron ore mining and processing plant, represents a milestone in the country’s efforts to attract investment and improve local capabilities. Mr. Alake urged the company to sustain its investment drive, assuring stakeholders of government support for ventures that create jobs for Nigerian youth.

The commissioning marks a pivotal moment in the country’s push for economic diversification and technological advancement in the solid minerals sector.
