VP Shettima Calls on National Council on Privatisation to Maximize Value from Core Assets

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged members of the National Council on Privatisation (NCP) to focus on maximizing the value derived from the nation’s core assets for the benefit of Nigerians.

Speaking on Tuesday during the 4th NCP meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the Vice President emphasized the importance of these assets to the economic agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Shettima, in his address, highlighted that the role of the NCP is crucial in driving the economic prosperity the government aims to achieve. He called on the Council members to provide constructive leadership, stressing that posterity would favor those who strive to be fair and transparent in their decisions.

“The work of this Council has never been more important, especially given our current economic climate. Maximizing value from core national assets is a key tenet of the economic agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we must, as a Council, play our part in unlocking the national prosperity that Mr. President works towards every day,” the Vice President stated.

The call comes at a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s economic landscape, as the government continues to seek ways to optimize national resources and foster long-term economic growth.
