Lawal Emphasizes Importance of Tree Planting at COP29 in Azerbaijan [Video]

Comrade Olamide Lawal, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the National President of the All Progressive Congress Youth League (APCYL), has represented Nigeria at the COP29 side event organized by the United Nations Youth Network (UNOY) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

During his address, Lawal emphasized the importance of youth involvement in addressing climate change challenges through sustainable practices such as tree planting. He outlined the significant role trees play in mitigating climate change, particularly in the South West region of Nigeria, with a focus on Ogun State.

Lawal proudly highlighted the achievements of the Dapo Abiodun administration in combating climate change, noting that over three million trees have been planted in the state over the past five years. This initiative, he said, demonstrates the administration’s commitment to fostering a greener and more sustainable environment.
