Honourable Bukola Olopade officially assumed office on Wednesday as the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) at its headquarters in Abuja. His first day was marked by strategic engagements with senior staff, including the NSC Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, and other directors.
In a bid to strengthen his administration, Hon. Olopade approved the appointments of Seyi Johnson as Special Assistant and Ebidiowei Oweifie as Special Assistant (Special Duties). These appointments highlight his commitment to assembling a capable team to drive the Commission’s agenda for sports development in Nigeria.
During his meeting with the NSC Chairman, Hon. Olopade emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving the Commission’s goals. Describing the partnership as pivotal, he expressed optimism about working with Alhaji Dikko to foster growth in the nation’s sporting sector.
Hon. Olopade also met with the Commission’s directors and other staff members, engaging in productive discussions on key sports-related matters. He outlined his vision for the NSC, emphasizing teamwork, dialogue, and laying a solid foundation for sustainable sports development across Nigeria.
According to sources at the Commission, staff are impressed with the new Director General’s proactive leadership, which is already setting the tone for a dynamic and result-oriented tenure.
