The Department of State Services (DSS) in Ogun State has arrested Ladi Adebutu following a reported incident involving unauthorized mobile policemen during the local government elections held on Saturday.

Sources reveal that mobile policemen from Mopol 46 in Lagos, allegedly operating without proper authorization, opened fire on a Vice Chairmanship candidate during the election process. The presence of these illegal officers was reportedly traced back to Adebutu’s residence.

Acting on directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police (CP), DSS and local police officers confronted the group at the scene. In the ensuing operation, one of the unauthorized officers was apprehended while several others managed to evade capture.

The incident has sparked concerns about security during the election process, with investigations ongoing to uncover the full extent of the involvement of the unauthorized policemen.
