With results from just three local governments away from the final declaration, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has adjourned the collation exercise till noon, Sunday 17th November.
The collation exercise, which resumed for minutes after a long recess, received results from Okitipupa and Akure North local government areas.
The candidate of the APC, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, won both local governments announced recently, extending his margin from his closest rival and candidate of the PDP, Agboola Ajayi.
Tribune Online earlier reports that Aiyedatiwa won all the 13 local governments announced by INEC by a margin of over 178,000 votes.
With 15 LGAs now announced, Aiyedatiwa has polled 301,113 votes against Ajayi who garnered 97,051 votes so far.
By margin, Aiyedatiwa is currently leading with 204,062 votes.
However, the Presiding Officer, who is also Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi, while adjourning the exercise to 12 pm, noted that results from the remaining three LGAs’ are delayed due to long distance.
