The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, has congratulated former Ogun State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Bukola Olopade, on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Director General of the National Sports Commission.
In a statement from his media team, Senator Salisu described Hon. Olopade as a seasoned grassroots politician, a sports enthusiast, and a visionary leader whose dedication to public service has made a lasting impact in Nigeria, especially within the sports sector.

His time as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State was characterized by innovation, passion, and tangible outcomes. He first garnered attention when he took office as one of the youngest commissioners in Ogun State, leaving a legacy that includes hosting the inaugural Ogun State National Sports Festival, known as Gateway Games, and establishing the state-owned football team, Gateway FC, among other achievements,” stated Senator Salisu.
