The Chairman Ogun State Football Association Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, says youth development across the state and the country at large is non negotiable, to this end, it is pertinent for all hands to be on deck in ensuring that talents are discovered and nurtured consistently.

The Ogun FA Boss was reacting after a review of the preliminary round of the 2024 Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) age grade football competition for Boys and Girls in the state.

Alhaji Majekodunmi who is an Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), said he was delighted with the level of talents on parade.

“Preliminary round games have been held and we are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that we give the lads proper monitoring and projection.

“I am particularly impressed with the female teams, that’s one area we really need to improve on and I think the current crop of players are not doing badly”

He appreciated the sponsor, Sir. Kesington Adebutu, and assured that a lot has been penciled down for the 2025 calendar year, while calling on other corporate organizations to key into the ideas of the Ogun State Football Association.

“Already, we have KAAF and Bet9ja as our sponsors, we already concluded our State League which was sponsored by Bet9ja, arrangements are also in top gear in ensuring that the next edition is bigger in all spheres.

“We have enjoyed utmost support from Hon. Kunle Soname, he has been extremely supportive and we won’t take his philanthropy for granted.

“The NFF has mandated us to do more in Youth development, that’s my own field, and I’m opened to partnership with people of like minds.

The Chairman, Youth Football committee of the Nigeria Football Federation who was in Togo with the country’s Under-20 team for the WAFU B U-20 tournament, opined that Nigeria is richly blessed with talents and should not struggle to assemble formidable teams at the age grade levels.
