Ogun State Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Enhancing Civil Service Values

The Ogun State Government has reiterated its dedication to implementing the resolutions of the National Council on Establishments (NCE), emphasizing core Civil Service values like accountability, meritocracy, professionalism, and efficiency.

 

At the 46th NCE meeting in Ede, Osun State, the Ogun State Head of Service highlighted the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration’s efforts to domesticate the Council’s resolutions.

 

Key Reforms Implemented

Redesignation of Information Officer Cadre: Now known as Information and Public Relations Officer Cadre

Conversion of Cadres: From Executive/Superintendent/Technical to Professional/Officer Cadres

Enhanced Entry Points: For engineers (GL09) and Nursing Officers (Salary Grade Level 10-17 for BSc holders)

Adoption of Modern Technology: Digitization of confirmatory promotion examinations within the Civil Service

Capacity building of the workforce

Collaboration and Best Practices: Continued collaboration on best practices between the Head of Service of the Federation and State’s Head of Service

Capacity Building: Mandatory assessment-based training for officers seeking promotion to Directorate level

Innovation and Technology: Adoption of modern technology and innovation in administrative processes

New Cadre Creation: Creation of Audio/Speech Therapist Cadre in the service

 

These initiatives demonstrate Ogun State’s dedication to enhancing its Civil Service and promoting efficient governance, aligning with Governor Abiodun’s “Budget of Sustained Growth and Development”.
