In preparation for the upcoming local government elections across all 20 local government areas in Ogun State, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Security, has emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among party members.
Senator Salisu made this call during the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) local government campaign rally for Odeda Local Government Area, held at Ward 6 in the Osiele community.
Addressing a crowd of party supporters and community leaders, Senator Salisu urged all stakeholders to prioritize unity and peace, stressing that these values are crucial for securing a decisive victory at the polls. “This campaign is not just about winning votes; it is about uniting our people under a shared vision of progress and development. Unity among us is essential for delivering the dividends of democracy to every resident of Ogun Central,” he stated.
The Senator underscored the significance of local governance in driving economic development and assured party members of his commitment to work closely with local government administrations to improve essential services.
Senator Salisu also expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that the President is aware of the challenges facing citizens. He assured the gathering that steps are being taken to address these issues, emphasizing the government’s commitment to alleviating the economic hardships experienced by many Nigerians.
Reaffirming his dedication to representing Ogun Central in the National Assembly, Senator Salisu pledged to continue advocating for his constituents’ needs through legislative action. “I am here to assure you that I will keep pushing for policies that prioritize our people’s needs. I will move motions, sponsor bills, and ensure that Ogun Central remains a priority in our national development agenda,” he promised.
The APC campaign rally attracted a host of dignitaries, including Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly; Hon. Ajibola Ogunsiji, former House of Assembly member representing Odeda Local Government; Hon. Semiu Bola Lawal, former Odeda Local Government Chairman and Director-General of the APC campaign organization; Dr. Folasade Adeyemo, the APC’s chairmanship candidate for Odeda Local Government; and Hon. Musulumi Saka, the leader of the Odeda Local Government APC executives.
As the campaign progresses, rallies are scheduled to be held across all council wards in the local government area, ensuring that the APC’s message of unity, progress, and development reaches every community.
