The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, were prominent attendees at the recent APC National Women Dialogue Meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The summit, organized by the APC National Women Leader’s Office, brought together female leaders from across the country under the theme: “Empowering APC Women for Leadership and Nation Building.”
Engr. Salako-Oyedele delivered a compelling paper titled “Empowering the Next Generation of Female Leaders: Building Political Networks for Collective Success,” highlighting the critical responsibility of current women leaders to mentor and support the next generation. “We must be intentional about nurturing young women who will follow in our footsteps,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of easing the path for future female leaders in a male-dominated political landscape.
The Deputy Governor reiterated the need for mentorship that goes beyond mere advice, calling for the creation of opportunities and networks that allow young women to be seen and heard. “Political leadership is not a solo endeavor. The most successful leaders are those who build alliances and draw strength from others,” she noted, encouraging all women to support one another and cultivate the networks necessary for collective success.
Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye expressed her pride in the gathering, which showcased the strength and dedication of women within the APC. She noted the significant presence of Ogun State representatives, including former Speaker Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni and Deputy Speaker Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi. Together, they engaged in essential discussions aimed at advancing women’s roles in governance and nation-building.
“This inspiring summit reinforced our shared mission to champion leadership and drive meaningful progress,” Adeleye remarked. The discussions at the summit aimed to empower APC women and bolster their contributions to political discourse and decision-making.
