The State’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, announced her passing in a statement released early Friday morning.

Ememobong stated that the First Lady passed away on Thursday in a hospital with her family by her side.

He added that further information will be provided soon, while conveying Governor Umo Eno’s gratitude to everyone who supported the family during this difficult time.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of the wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, after a period of illness.

“She passed away peacefully at the hospital on 26th September, 2024, surrounded by her family.

“The family surrenders to the will of God and seeks prayers and support from well-meaning individuals during this challenging time.

“Further information will be shared by the family as needed. In the meantime, they respectfully ask for privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

“His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, extends his appreciation to all who have stood by the First Family during this time and assures the citizens that, despite this great personal loss, his dedication to serving the state remains steadfast,” the statement read.
