President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to intensify its highway oversight and work towards minimizing road accidents across the nation.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu emphasized the need for better highway monitoring and a reduction in road accident rates nationwide.

The president also expressed his condolences to the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria following a tragic auto accident that claimed the lives of 40 members and injured several others on Sunday.

The victims were en route from Kwandari in Plateau State to a Maulud Nabiy celebration in Saminaka, Kaduna State, when their bus collided with a truck in Lere town, Kaduna State.

President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the families affected and to the governments of Kaduna and Plateau States. He prayed for the souls of those who have passed away.
