As the Muslim community worldwide marks the celebration of Maolud Nabiyy, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hon. Chief Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin, a chieftain of the APC in Ila Orangun Local Government, Osun State, has sent a message of reflection and unity to his constituents.
In his heartfelt message, Hon. Adeniyi emphasized the enduring relevance of the Prophet’s teachings and called upon the community to embrace the values exemplified by the Prophet throughout his life.
Quoting the Prophet’s final words, “اللهم رفيق الأعلى” (Allahumma Rafīq al-A‘lā) – O Allah, the Highest Companion, Adeniyi highlighted the Prophet’s deep connection with Allah and his unwavering submission to the Divine.
He urged his constituents to embody these virtues, calling for love, mercy, and compassion, even toward those who may not share the same sentiments.
“Let us show kindness and love to everyone around us, including those who may not wish us well. Our actions should preach selflessness, sincerity, and generosity, devoid of hidden motives,” he stated, urging the community to follow the Prophet’s example of acting with pure intentions.
Hon. Adeniyi also underscored the importance of patience, wisdom, and measured speech, qualities that marked the Prophet’s demeanor. “Be calm in adversity, patient in trials, and generous in both words and actions,” he encouraged, calling for thoughtful listening and the wisdom to speak only when necessary, traits that defined the Prophet’s interactions.
Furthermore, he encouraged the practice of charity and generosity, reminding his constituents that true charity comes from the heart without expectation of reward or recognition. “May we strive to embody this spirit of giving in our daily lives,” he added.
Unity, a core value in the Prophet’s life, was another theme in Adeniyi’s message. He called for peace and cooperation within the community, stressing that “unity should be our greatest strength.”
Concluding his message, Hon. Adeniyi offered prayers for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and for his constituents, asking Allah to strengthen their faith, fill their hearts with love and wisdom, and guide them to serve humanity.
He expressed hope that the community would live in peace and harmony, upholding the Prophet’s teachings in all aspects of life.
As Maolud Nabiyy is commemorated, Hon. Adeniyi’s message serves as a timely reminder of the Prophet’s enduring legacy and the values that remain critical to fostering a just and compassionate society.
