The Labour Party’s 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has appointed Ibrahim Umar to his team of media handlers.
This was revealed in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the Peter Obi Media Unit.
Umar succeeds the former Obi campaign spokesperson, Yunusa Tanko, who was recently named the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement globally.
While seeking the support of Nigerians and Labour Party supporters, the media team described Umar as a versatile member of the Obidient Movement, equally passionate as Tanko in his pursuit of a new Nigeria.
The statement read, “The Peter Obi Media Unit wishes to notify the public, particularly media professionals, of minor changes in the media team personnel. The POMU publicist, who also served as the chief spokesperson of the Obi Presidential Campaign, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, is stepping down to take on a new challenge.
“Tanko will be succeeded by Mallam Ibrahim Umar, another versatile member of the Obidient Movement, equally driven by the quest for a new Nigeria. Tanko has been appointed as interim national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, overseeing both national and international activities.
“We therefore urge the public to extend their support to these individuals in their new roles as we continue the journey toward dismantling the political forces keeping our nation captive. A New Nigeria is Possible.”
