Breaking: Ajuri Ngelale Steps Down from Tinubu’s Media Team

Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has officially stepped down from his role, effective immediately.

The news was conveyed via a memo submitted to the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday.

In his explanation, Ngelale mentioned urgent family health matters as the key reason behind his decision to step aside.

“This difficult decision was reached after extensive family consultations over the last few days, as an ongoing medical issue at home has become more severe,” Ngelale clarified.

This leave of absence will impact Ngelale’s various responsibilities within the government.

Aside from his role as Presidential Spokesperson, he will also temporarily step away from his duties as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

Ngelale acknowledged the weight of his duties, stating, “I fully recognize that the state’s affairs cannot wait for anyone, but this tough choice had to be made after serious consultations with my family.”

The length of Ngelale’s absence is undetermined, though he termed it an “indefinite leave.”

He plans to return to national service when conditions improve.
