The tenure of Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has been officially extended.
This extension aligns with the Nigeria Police Act (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which revised the terms of service for police personnel, extending them from 35 to 40 years of service, and raising the retirement age from 60 to 65 years.
Egbetokun’s tenure renewal is set for another four years.
Sources within the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation have confirmed to our correspondent that Egbetokun has received his letter regarding this extension.
