The Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has officially announced the dates for its upcoming Ward, Local Government Area (LGA), and State Congresses. This decision comes following the approval of the National Working Committee of the party.

In a press statement issued by Afolabi Orekoya, the Publicity Secretary of the Ogun PDP Caretaker Committee, it was confirmed that the Ward Congresses, scheduled to elect Ward Executives and three Ad-Hoc Delegates, will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Subsequently, any appeals regarding the Ward Congresses are set to be heard on Saturday, September 7, 2024

The PDP will then proceed with the Local Government Area Congresses to elect LGA Executives and National Delegates on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The appeal process for the LGA Congresses is slated for Friday, September 20, 2024.

Moving forward, the State Congress, aimed at electing the State Executives, is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024, with any appeals to be addressed on Friday, October 4, 2024.

In addition to the congress dates, Orekoya emphasized, “The Caretaker Committee hereby announces 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 27th August, 2024, as the deadline for submission of all Nomination forms for the various offices at both the Ward and Local Government levels for processing. Submission is mandatory in fulfillment of INEC’s request for Aspirants’ list as a requirement for the Congress.”

As the Ogun PDP prepares for these crucial congresses, all eyes will be on the processes that will shape the party’s leadership and future direction in the state.
