Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has given the go-ahead for the reconstruction of the 8.17-kilometre Magboro-Makogi Road in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
This approval also includes the Magboro underbridge.
Prince Abiodun made this announcement on Monday during the launch of the 2024 Rice Harvesting Season, held in Igboko village.
The governor emphasized that the road reconstruction would boost development in the area. He also revealed plans to allocate about 2,000 hectares for rice farming in the region.
He stated, “I am pleased that today, I personally drove on this road. I have seen its condition, but more importantly, I’ve observed how densely populated this area is. I also understand the significant impact this road will have on our agricultural land.
“So today, I reaffirm that I am a governor who delivers on promises. I speak and act; I don’t just talk. I will immediately authorize the contract for the reconstruction of this road.”
